in the lonely cool before dawn.

started work pretty dang early this morning. while standing in the bitter cold waiting for kids to walk into school, i grabbed a shot of this here tree. it didn't help me stay warm, but i thought the light flare looked kinda cool. cool enough for this format, anyway...

you don't know how lucky you are, boy.

the beer store next to my house just got some great russian beer in stock. it takes me back to hopping off the train and buying a few bottles from fat, old, crabby babushkas at stops. except on the russian bottles, there is no "lager" no "porter" and no "ale." the labels just had numbers. i could never remember which numbers were which type of beer.

the road is dark, and it's a thin, thin line.

i'd like to say this post is "by popular demand," but it's basically by "singular demand."

you would think the mermaids wouldn't need to ride the fishes to swim. but i do admit my knowledge of mermaids is very limited.

i doubt you get that nice "dried on the line" smell, but i guess you don't have to worry about venting your dryer this way.

sometimes taking pictures is the easy part. i was in a very rural area and had to take care of my own food for a couple days. the motel didn't have a fridge, and it was way too cold to leave anything outside. luckily, the door let in a lot of outside air. so my coat made a nice little refrigerator.

i give up. mother nature, you win.

today kinda felt like back in the intern days (except for having a tv to watch chelsea beat arsenal)... some reading. walking. lots of music. just killing time.

trust some of this, it'll show you where it's at.

santa fe was not exactly balmy. however, it was sunny, which is something we haven't gotten much of, lately. so i tried to take advantage of it and sit in the sun in the afternoon. and what would vacation be without a drink in the afternoon?
